It this episode the Round Ball Review tries to get the jump on the competition by starting their trade deadline coverage 12 days before the deadline. Joey G is driving J.B nuts and it leads to lots of fun and a lot of trades that will never happen.

Round Ball Review: Negative Work Environment.

Here is the latest episode of the Round Ball Review. Even the guys are having trouble getting along during this losing streak. But they manage to get through another episode and hopefully provide some laughs along the way.

Raptors Recap Of Washington Debacle With Round Ball Review

Tonight's game was awful. It was just terrible. I figure doing a recap of this one would only add to your pain. So instead we call on our friends Joey G and J.B to recap this one. They will give you some laughs and actually tell you a little about the game. So take it away guys:



Hopefully you got a laugh or two from that. The Raptors performance tonight in Washington was no laughing matter. It was pretty awful. It is the 4th time this season where the Raptors pretty much got blown out. Raptors look for a much better effort as they return home to face the Kings. Demar DeRozan really is struggling and it is something to be concerned about. Does cutting Rasaul Butler fix things no. But should Butler be gone. You bet your life. I have never been a huge fan of Linas Kleiza but he can not return soon enough. For the brave souls who want to check out the Boxscore here it is. But be warned it isn't pretty. Nothing was about the Raptors performance in Washington.

Round Ball Review Returns To The DNB

After a long absence the Round Ball Review is returning to the Dino Nation Blog. Some things have changed but Joey G is still the same for the most part. Hope you enjoy the Round Ball Review as we bring it back for at least a couple episodes.

So there will be at least one more episode. This is one of the more funny things I have created in the Dino Nation Blog and they are a lot of fun to produce. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do putting them together.

Well they are back sort of. Unfortunately no longer in Video Format. The site that they were created from now charges to make videos and that is just not in the DNB budget at the present time. We hope you will still enjoy their brand of comedy in a written format. NOTHING they say should reflect the opinions of the Dino Nation Blog, The Score or anyone else Joey G might claim they represent. So with that I give you The Round Ball Review blog.

Reduced to a blogger. Now I know how Stephen A Smith must feel like. This sucks worse then when Chris Bosh ended our friendship by sending me a DM on Twitter that said... Sorry Joey but I checked they won't let you back into the U.S.A. Something about Obama and basketball. Peace Out. After all the times we chilled together. After all the great times we had. After I tried to hook his Grandmother up with an illegal cable box so she could watch him play basketball. I mean really did I not at least deem a phone call? A well though out heart felt e-mail? This sucks. So I am glad he is sucking and hope the Heat trade him to Milwaukee for Andrew Bogut. See how you like it there pal.

Hello Raptor fans. Unlike Joey I embrace this chance that James has given us to reach out to all our fans. This is a new chance for us to keep you up to date on the Raptors as part of the Dino Nation Blog. I am J.B by the way. I noticed Joey never mentioned that off the top. Anyway the Raptors after a rough start have started to win some basketball games and have made a good trade for the future. I will miss Jarrett Jack. James told me he is a very nice guy and was always good with the media. But excited to see what Jerryd Bayless can do.

Well at least some things have not changed, you are still sucking up to James. In fact I blame you for this. Maybe the reason we don't have the money to produce the show was your over priced salary. I on the other hand will be bitter until fans demand we are put back on the air. I think we should start a telethon or something to get us back on the air where we belong. Save the Round Ball Review. I mean seriously. Maybe I will just go take a job on NBA TV Canada. They likely have seen my work and would pay big bucks to have Joey G on their network.

Joey you realize that NBA TV Canada is just the new name for Raptors T.V. The same network that you unsuccessfully begged to be on last season on Raptorspace. So I am thinking your chances are slim to none. But the big story as you sort mentioned off the top in the Miami Heat and their early season struggles. What is your take on that Joey? Why have the Heat struggled so badly.

Simple...IT IS 100% Chris Bosh's Fault. LIKE A BOSH. Maybe the guys at The Basketball Jones will have me on their show. They do a T.V show now I am sure they can use someone of my talents. I could replace that guy that says WHAT'S UP GUYS. I mean really how hard is that to do? I could do that and more. J.E Skeets and Tas Melas need to give me a call. After working with you it would be a joy to work with some people with actual talent.

You are referring to Matty O. He does more than that, he is a producer and writer for the show as well. I am sorry to Matt. He seems like a nice guy. We don't want to offend anyone in this blog Joey. Congratulations to TBJ on getting on to T.V here in Canada. I think it is great for basketball fans across the country. I know James would say the same and he has even had Tas in the blog a few times as a guest.

I can see working with you is still going to be difficult. Like a marriage to Tony Parker maybe it is time I file for divorce. But it sure has not hurt the Spurs at all. Who needs Tony Parker when you have THE RED ROCKET. Matt Bonner is on fire. I need a new favourite NBA player to be my homie maybe Bonner is the ticket. He is trying to become a Canadian as well and is married to a girl from here. We could have long talks riding on the subway it would be great.

There is something wrong about that. I just don't see that working. Matt is a simple kind of humble guy. While you, have the biggest ego of anyone that I know. In fact your ego might be even bigger in comparison to Lebron James. It would be a close call. I don't envy Mr. James having to go back to Cleveland. People are very angry about how he left and that could be a tough situation to deal with. I hope nothing bad happens.

If I was Lebron James I would just blame Bosh. Say it isn't his fault that Bosh was the one that wouldn't come to Cleveland or he would have stayed. But forget about that, what about when Bosh comes here in February. I Joey G am endorsing that Toronto Boos Chris Bosh so loud that his Grandma can hear it on T.V. He Screwed Me...I mean US over. You must stand up for what is right and Boo him louder then Tracy...Louder then Vince or you Raptor fans have lost your respect from me. Do it for Joey G, Canada and Canadian Cable providers everywhere. On second thought screw the cable providers I still don't get Sportsnet 1.

So is this going to be your thing now? Blame Bosh? Everything that will go wrong will be his fault. Is that what I am hearing? I understand everyone is upset with him but the answer to every problem can not just be to Blame Bosh. That does not make a lot of sense Joey. Not that you ever do make a lot of sense.

It is my new found answer to all life's questions. Scalpers can't sell Raptor tickets...Blame Bosh. Triano is still the coach...Blame Bosh. Andrea Bargnani still can't rebound..Blame Bosh. The leafs still suck...Blame well wait the Leafs have sucked long before him. But what the heck....Blame him anyway. You got a D in Geography...Blame Bosh. Why? Because he didn't even know where Peterborough was. You got fired...Blame Bosh. Why? Because you spent to much time on Twitter calling him a lame loser that can't rebound.

Some how I don't think Chris Bosh or blaming him is the answer to all of life's questions. But that will do it for Joey and myself. If this was not so bad that James fires us, we will be back with more thoughts and opinions on the Raptors and the NBA. It is great to be back here on The Dino Nation Blog once again. For the folks that missed us we thank you and and as we always use to say on the T.V Show...Good Bye Raptor Fans

Well another season in the books and the Round Ball Review has it's wrap on the Raptors season. Well that was the plan anyway. Instead a lot of talk of Chris Bosh destinations. What happened when Joey G took on Obama in basketball? All of this and Joey G is furious at a Raptor for stealing his thunder. Who is it? Watch this episode and find out.

Go Rondo Go..You Are Our Only Hope?

They say politics makes strange bed fellows. Well so does sports. How else can you explain Raptor fans cheering on the Celtics to beat the Bulls? When you look at things this is the Raptors best shot to make the most season. Now Larry Brown is on the record saying the Bobcats will play their full roster vs the Bulls on Wednesday. However forgive me if I don't see them being highly motivated to win, or for Brown not to pull the plug on his starters quickly. The Bobcats have nothing to play for. They have already qualified for the playoffs. Which by the way I predicted that they would and the Thunder too. How is that for an unlikely daily double? Anyway back to the point. Bobcats have no reason to win and the only things that can happen for them are bad ones.

Like the injury to Sonny Weems last night. Which by the way both Weems and I were up far to late last night on Twitter. In the wee hours of the morning Weems tweeted thanks for fans concern. He also tweeted there was no way he was going to miss the biggest game of his NBA Career. So as much as Larry Brown is preaching all the right things in terms of doing what is right for the game of basketball. Fact is even if his players do play how honestly motivated will they be? The answer is likely not all that much. If you want a Raptor example of it. How about when the Raptors won their Division Title and raised the banner. They had zip to play for and were easily defeated by a Sixers team that was not heading to the post season.

So that is why tonight for my money (Weems Nickname Pun Unintended) the Raptors hope lies with Boston. As I outlined in the blog the Celtics still have a slim chance of catching the Hawks for 3rd in the East. The main motivation in securing that 3rd spot is you would draw Orlando in round 2 instead of Cleveland. Who regardless of who wins the final seed, Bulls or Raptors, will be a massive favourite to advance. In fact let's be honest about this they are a heavy favourite to win the NBA Title. Which was also one of my pre-season predictions. However if you think I am gloating trust me I am not. You remember who I had for 6th man of the year award winner? Rasheed Wallace was my pick and he has not exactly lit it up in Boston. But Go Sheed, right? At least tonight it will be the case. That was all the buzz on Twitter today with Raps fans. Trying to come to grips with cheering for the team that has punked the Raptors on so many occasions. That knee to Chris Bosh's groin by Paul Pierce is now water under the bridge. K.G smack talking with Jose Calderon a simple exchange of ideas. It is all very odd and bizarre.

The one person I will have no issue with cheering for on the Celtics in Rajon Rondo. I believe I have told this story in the blog before but it is worth repeating. I was out at a social gathering in the Early fall after the Big 3 was coming to Boston. I was among a group of people and the topic of the Celtics came up. Someone expressed extreme doubt that Rondo was good enough to make this all work. He suggested that the Celtics needed to get a point guard in order to make this make over a success. I at the time said " No you just wait and see, Rondo is going to be fine,trust me". Not sure if that person did or remembered this conversation, but the results have been very positive. Rondo in the Big 3 era has become a star. While the Big 3 has got old, Rondo has gotten better. In fact I am willing to say that the Celtics are now more about Rondo then they are about any of the Big 3. As Rondo goes so go the Celtics. He is the only reason they were able to hold off the Bulls from what would have been an epic upset last year. That series for some was one of the greatest of all time.

This is good news for the Raptors if you want to be optimistic. These two teams fought in a sports version of a war. That leads to bad blood and people not liking each other very much. So beyond having their own reasons to win, sticking it to the Bulls would be a cherry on top. If it helps the Raptors in the process so be it. I don't think the Celtics are fearing they would see the Raptors in the post season any way. Even if by some miracle they did they swept away the Raptors in 4 meetings this season and have traditionally owned them.

It also doesn't hurt that everyone is doubting the Celtics, and some may even favour them to lose in the first round, depending on who they draw as an opposition. This is for whatever you make think of them a group that has a lot of pride. Celtic Pride is a real thing, and even for a team that has some questionable characters that means something. Yes they talk smack, drop f-bombs and at times play like they are God's gift to the world. It is very easy not to like this team. They give you lots of ammo to hate them. But for this one night forget all that and cheer for them anyway. I feel you have no choice, because I honestly see this as the Raptors only hope to make the playoffs.

If you are one of those folks that doesn't want them to get into the playoffs you can do what is natural and cheer against them. I understand that logic may dictate missing the playoffs makes the most sense for the Raptors. After all they get to keep a first round draft pick. The chances of Chris Bosh staying seem bleak for most. I just can never get behind wanting the team that I support/cover to lose. It is just not something I can go to bed and sleep at night over. Yes, the chances of advancing are remote at best. If Chris Bosh is not healthy, which we still do not know for the playoffs, they become even less so. What is the point to getting in?

I will give you three off the top. Jack, Weems and DeRozan, none of which have made the post season. It will be a great experience for them, even if the Raptors were to be swept aside by the Cavs. To get a taste of what the playoffs are like. Many pro athletes have experienced and talked about it. There is absolutely nothing that can prepare you for the intensity of the post season. Every possession counts, the level of defense is turned up and cranked to the max. Wild crowds out of control with noise. I know it has been a few years but we all remember that right? There is nothing like it. Be it from Vince Carter and A.I doing battle to Vince Carter no longer a Raptor returning. The Playoffs is a different animal and the more experience not just those 3 can gain, but everyone the better the Raptors are for it. Getting to the post season is like a drug, once you get there you want to come back. Once you get a taste you want more. It is the biggest natural narcotic in sports and every player wants it once they have had it.

So that is my take on what will be a very odd night in Raptorland. If you happen to be a fan of the RoundBall Review that I do on here, the cartoon hosts have their own Twitter account. Round Ball Review- House Sitting

After some technical issues with the site that create the Round Ball Review the guys are finally back. Joey G claims to be house sitting for Chris Bosh and that is where this episode takes place. As you will see it may not in fact be the case. But lots of fun and antics as always from Joey and J.B. I think with the Raptors recent play we could all use a laugh so hopefully this provides a few.

It is Monday which means the guys from the Round Ball Review make their weekly visit to the Dino Nation Blog. The RETURN Of THE ROUND"BALL" REVIEW

The Dino Nation Blog is proud to welcome back one of my personal favourite segments that I have done. The Round Ball Review was actually a Radio Segment of a show called Jock Talk. I was the host of the segment. I had a partner doing it with me named Joe. I decided to make a cartoon of the Round Ball Review last year. Scott Carefoot had turned me on to the site that makes these cartoons come to life. Scott did his own for Raptorblog that pre-dated mine. I kept doing the roundball review until the site made it something you had to pay for. It may not shock anyone that the Dino Nation Blog is not exactly a big budget operation here so the extra cost for it was not something I felt made a ton of sense. The good news is that is no longer the case and the site now once again provides the material it takes to make the Round Ball Review happen again.



I get a lot of fun in making these and hope you will enjoy them and become a fan of them as I have in doing them. Nothing they take should be taken very seriously. I consider them as some comic relief for the site. Something that is still important. So enjoy the big return of the Round Ball Review.



So the Boys are back lord help us all. Joey G is a ton of fun to write for because honestly if you have been a fan of this thing...really is there anything he would say at this point that would shock you? Hope you enjoy and I will do my best to make this a regular feature on Mondays.
